In this web site and other material by or about Akemi Solloway, the following meanings apply:-
- Lesson
A scheduled episode of formal instruction, usually in a classroom environment, during which the teacher aims to model and check reading, writing, listening and speaking proficiency in Japanese language, often with the aid of a text book and prepared study materials, to one or more students.
- Workshop

- Performance
- Study Tour
- Study Retreat
Cancellation of lessons
- In cases were a scheduled lesson is cancelled more than 48 hours in advance, no cancellation fee shall be charged.
- In cases were a scheduled lesson (other than an introductory lesson) is cancelled less than 48 hours but more than 24 hours in advance, a cancellation fee of 50% of the agreed lesson cost shall be charged.
- In cases were a scheduled lesson (other than an introductory lesson) is cancelled less than 24 hours in advance, a cancellation fee of 100% of the agreed lesson cost shall be charged.
- In the case of a "no show" (i.e the student misses the lesson without any notification), a cancellation fee of 100% of the agreed lesson cost shall be charged. In addition, that student will thereafter be required to provide a deposit of one full lesson fee before any further lessons shall be scheduled.

of a traditional Japanese hairstyle are trade marks of Akemi Solloway, used by her in her professional activities
as a teacher and lecturer of Japanese language and culture, presenter of Japanese culture, commentator
and consultant on Japanese matters, organiser and leader of study tours and residential study retreats,
model and actress specialising in Japanese cultural roles, writer on Japanese matters, and other
associated activities in the United Kingdom, Japan and world wide.
